She also had a recurring character on the series I love Vampires.Butler got the role of lead role in the 2010 rape revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave a remake of the 1978 popular film with the same name. While initially dissuaded by the film's nakedness and its violence, the film's strong female edge and character development convinced her to take on the character. Butler starred in Jennifer Hills as a novelist who is brutally sexually assaulted in a hotel room while on vacation. The film was directed by Steven R. Monroe the film was released on October 8th, 2010. Butler started filming The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller with Estella Warr and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain, in November 2011. The film was also scheduled to film on location in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She joined the cast of the independent feature Treachery with Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler was co-starring with Michael Welch in 2013's horror film The Demented.
